Overview
HOP Syndication Service is a pipeline that connects Heretto Deploy API to Salesforce Knowledge, keeping your customer-facing knowledge base in sync with your DITA source content automatically. It handles the full article lifecycle, from creating documentation in Heretto, to generating drafts in Salesforce, to publishing them, and archiving removed content. The service enables you configure syncs, map content fields and metadata categories, set up a recurring sync schedule, and monitor every run with live progress tracking and a history of results.
Built for teams that need a path for need to create and publish content from Heretto CCMS to Salesforce Knowledge. Designed to run as a self-hosted service alongside your existing Heretto and Salesforce infrastructure.
Install

What it’s good for
- Scheduled publishing directly from a Heretto deployment to Salesforce Knowledge
- Keeping Heretto CCMS as the source of truth for Salesforce Knowledge articles
- Publishing from Heretto Deploy API as Salesforce Drafts or live Published articles
Core features
- Incremental and full syncs — incremental runs use a high-water-mark cursor so only changed content since the last sync is processed; full resyncs walk the entire deployment structure Removed content handling — full resyncs detect articles whose source topic no longer exists and automatically archive (Online) or delete (Draft) them in Salesforce Knowledge
- Publish modes — auto-publish articles to Online on sync, or leave them as Drafts for manual review
- Field mapping — map Heretto content areas (short description, content body, etc.) to any writable Salesforce Knowledge fields that are configured
- Data category mapping — map Heretto taxonomy structures to Salesforce Knowledge data category groups for article visibility control or article metadata
- Scheduled and on-demand — any standard cron expression, plus manual trigger from the UI
- Live progress tracking — running syncs show a real-time progress bar (“x of y completed”) in the UI Run warnings — non-fatal issues (failed archives, Salesforce article limit hits) are grouped into a single summary warning
- Credential management — Salesforce credentials stored encrypted; supports OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials Flow (auto-refresh) or static access token
